Position Summary

The Data and Operations Analyst will develop and maintain datasets, reports, dashboards, and analytical models that support AgileFreight's freight operations. The role combines data analytics with operational execution by applying insights to load booking, execution planning, pricing, profitability analysis, and continuous process improvement while helping build the company's Google Cloud analytics platform.

Primary Data & Analytics Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize, clean, validate, and maintain operational and financial data from multiple business systems.
  • Document business, reporting, and data requirements.
  • Design and maintain structured datasets supporting shipments, customers, carriers, pricing, and profitability.
  • Write SQL queries to extract, transform, validate, and analyze data.
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs using Power BI, Looker Studio, and Excel.
  • Perform trend, variance, profitability, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Maintain data dictionaries, business rules, metadata, and analytical documentation.
  • Support data quality, governance, backup, and information management practices.
  • Assist with Google Cloud Platform services, including Databricks, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Looker Studio.

Data-Driven Freight Operations

  • Use historical shipment, pricing, and carrier-performance data to support load booking decisions.
  • Prepare shipment execution plans using customer requirements, capacity, service levels, and operational constraints.
  • Analyze carrier performance, transit times, and lane profitability.
  • Monitor shipments and update operational datasets.
  • Recommend operational improvements based on analytical findings.

Financial & Business Analysis

  • Analyze shipment revenue, carrier costs, margins, and customer profitability.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, business cases, and management reporting.
  • Reconcile operational and financial information.
  • Assist with invoice verification, accounts receivable analysis, and QuickBooks updates where required.

Education

Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.

Required Experience

  • Several years of experience in data analysis, financial analysis, management reporting, operational analysis, or business intelligence.
  • Experience in profitability analysis, cost allocation, variance analysis, management reporting, and business case development.
  • Experience collecting, validating, reconciling, and analyzing data from multiple sources.
  • Experience creating dashboards, KPIs, and executive reports.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, advanced formulas, and data modeling.
  • Experience with Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Beginner-level knowledge of Google Cloud Platform is sufficient; willingness to develop expertise is expected.
  • Experience in logistics or transportation is an asset but not required.

Position Summary

The Class 1 Driver will operate a flatbed truck on domestic and Canada–U.S. long-haul routes, including mountain terrain. The role requires safe vehicle operation, proper cargo securement, accurate transportation documentation, and compliance with Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations.

Primary Driving & Transportation Responsibilities

  • Operate a Class 1 flatbed truck on domestic and Canada–U.S. long-haul routes, including mountain terrain.
  • Secure cargo using chains, straps, binders, tarps, and other load securement equipment.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Complete electronic logs, bills of lading, customs documentation, inspection reports, and other required transportation records.
  • Comply with Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations, including hours of service requirements.
  • Report accidents, delays, vehicle defects, and maintenance issues to dispatch.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1 Driver's License.
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable domestic and Canada-U.S. cross-border driving experience.
  • Clean commercial driver's abstract covering the past 3 years.
  • Valid Canadian passport and legal eligibility to enter the United States.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Good English communication skills.
